Since they’ve kept their relationship so private, some people might be surprised to learn that Drew and Linda have actually been together for seven years! It wasn’t until they got engaged last December that people started paying more attention to the woman who stole the HGTV star’s heart, and we must admit, they are really adorable! The cute couple will be starring on their own HGTV special alongside Drew’s other half, Jonathan Scott, as they renovate their dream home. In anticipation of their upcoming show, Property Brothers At Home: Drew’s Honeymoon House, here’s a look at 10 things you probably didn’t know about Drew and Linda’s relationship!
10. When They First Met
The exact day Drew and Linda first met was on Oct. 23, 2010, at Fashion Week in Toronto. He was backstage when he saw her and was immediately attracted to her. In order to strike up a conversation, he asked her where to get the bottle of water she was holding. She told him where to go, and then counteracted his question with another question, “Where’d you get that pizza?” which sealed the deal for Drew. He was smitten. They went their separate ways, but their paths continued to cross all night. After chatting for a long time at an after-party, Drew found out she was already seeing someone. While leaving the party, he saw her again outside and offered her and her sister a ride home. They stayed in touch, so when Linda was finally single, Drew knew about it and reached out for an official date.

9. Their First Date
They had their first date on January 21, 2011, and it was jam-packed! First, they went for sushi, then for a hot chocolate cafe, and then he invited himself along to her friend’s birthday party at a karaoke bar. Naturally, they got on-stage together and did a duet of the comedy rap song “I’m on a Boat” and then Grease, with Drew singing Sandy’s part and Linda as Danny. According to Drew, they’ve been inseparable ever since that first date.

8. Height Difference
It’s no secret that Jonathan and Drew are quite not hurting in the height department! When Drew is photographed beside Linda, there’s clearly a huge height difference and that’s because Drew stands tall at 6’4″ while Linda is only 5’2″! She’s more than a foot shorter than him!

7. His Family Loves Her
The stamp of approval from family can sometimes make or break a relationship, but this was never a concern for Drew and Linda because his family absolutely loves her! In his memoir, It Takes Two: Our Story, Drew wrote: “The fact that my family fell instantly in love with her her, too, was no surprise, but still icing on the cake. She could finish our sentences and even beat us to the punchlines of inside jokes from our childhood. ‘Who is this girl and how does she know every funny anecdote I’m about to tell?’ Jonathan asked me. Linda’s sense of humor came with a zest for adventure and boundless energy that fed my own.”

6. They Are Both Adventurous
In their memoir, Drew and Jonathan both talk a lot about how adventurous they are and it’s clear from their childhood, they are pretty much down to try anything! It seems Linda is the exact same way which makes them perfect for each other. A date night for these two often involves something totally obscure. They’ve taken trapeze lessons, completed firefighter and police fitness tests, played trampoline dodgeball and have even done an American Ninja Warrior challenge! “Her spontaneity is contagious…Like me, she’s game for just about any physical challenge. Her competitive streak makes me half-wonder if we should get DNA testing to make sure we weren’t closely related,” he joked.

5. Working Together
One of the main reasons their relationship has worked so well is because of Linda’s flexible work schedule. Since Jonathan and Drew are constantly traveling around the country filming Property Brothers and doing other promotion work, it can be hard to find the time to spend together. Linda works from home as a graphic designer so she was able to pick up and follow them around as they traveled. After she’d spent so much time with them, she eventually moved in with Jonathan and Drew and began working for Scott Brother’s Entertainment as their creative designer. In an interview with People, Linda talked about how people would always assume it was awkward for her to live with her boyfriend and her boyfriend’s brother, but she loved it! “You wake up and you go to work. It’s nice and really convenient to be able to have meetings with the people you live with,” she said.

4. Drew’s Proposal
It’s very obvious that Drew is a bit of a romantic and his proposal did not disappoint! Drew popped the question on December 13th, 2016 at the restaurant Piano Piano in Toronto, Ontario. It’s pretty clear from all the little details that a lot of effort and planning went into his proposal! He sang and recorded the song “Marry Me” by Train and had the restaurant play it over their sound system, but according to Drew, Linda didn’t even notice that it was his voice coming through the speakers! He also ordered a custom cake which was built to resemble her favorite Dr. Seuss book, Oh, The Places We’ll Go. There was a figurine on top of the cake which held a balloon in one hand and a solitaire diamond ring in the other. He then got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. She, of course, said ‘yes!’ He then planned a surprise after party to celebrate. They are planning to tie the knot in Spring 2018 in a destination wedding in either Mykonos, France or Spain.

3. Their Dream Home
Finding their dream home wasn’t hard considering Drew makes a living off buying, selling and flipping houses! When he and Linda decided they wanted to purchase their first home they began looking fixer-uppers. They eventually found the perfect one, a 1921 English Country-Style house in Hancock Park, but it needed a lot of work! Luckily, with Drew’s expertise and Linda’s creative abilities, these two are destined to build the perfect home. According to Drew, not long after they purchased the house, they knew this project had to be filmed as a special. Property Brothers At Home: Drew’s Honeymoon House is set to premiere on November 27th.

2. Cute Surprises for Each Other
In his memoir with Jonathan, Drew described all the cute little surprises that he and Linda do for each other to let the other know they are thinking about them or how much they care. He said she’ll sometimes leave notes in his suitcase for him to find while he’s traveling, and that he likes to create scavenger hunts for them to do. He once left notes around the house for her to find while he was away that eventually led her to a freezer full of Haagen-Dazs. He even tracked down a pizza purse for her in honor of her pizza obsession!

1. Kids in the Future?
During a tell-all interview with People in April, Drew opened up about his relationship with Linda and what their future looks like as a married couple — children or no children? Since Drew and his twin brother Jonathan are both approaching the age of 40, there’s no doubt that starting a family is on their mind. “I’m definitely looking forward to having kids. Linda and I have talked about it, and we’ve considered adopting,” said Drew.
