While the summer may mean camping, BBQs, vacation, and beach days, for many it means travelling across the country, and even across the globe, to attend the nuptials of friends and family. Some ceremonies will be beautiful while others will be incredibly awkward. TV has captured these embarrassing and hilarious moments and to celebrate wedding season. Here is our top 14 most awkward and trashy TV weddings.

14. Curb Your Enthusiasm

Larry David manages to make viewers feel exceptionally awkward in the episode where he and Cheryl (Cheryl Hines) renew their vows on their 10th wedding anniversary. First he spends his time leading up to the ceremony trying to score with other women, and then refuses to tie himself down to Cheryl for eternity. What a catch!

13. Full House

Rebecca’s (Lori Loughlin) white puffy nightmare of a dress was not the only cringe-worthy element of this episode. Audiences gagged when Jesse (John Stamos) halted the wedding to sing the Beach Boys’ ‘Forever.’ Viewers were also wondering how Rebecca was able to keep her head up with that humongous veil.

12. Glee

Did anyone ever figure out why Sue (Jane Lynch) married herself? Were the writers that desperate for storylines? While the blue tracksuit inspired dress compliments Sue’s character, it was an awkward one woman wedding and the dress was very blah.

11. Roseanne

Darlene’s (Sara Gilbert) white monstrosity of a wedding dress is not only unflattering, it is also completely out of character for the Connor girl who only ever wore torn jeans and plaid shirts.

10. Sex and the City

While Charlotte (Kristin Davis) looks exquisite in her ball gown when she marries Trey (Kyle MacLachlan), her bridesmaids look plain and dreary in their colorless and shapeless dresses. For a show that marketed itself on being fashion forward, these dresses are fashion don’ts.

9. Gossip Girl

Oh those poor poor bridesmaids in Blair’s (Leighton Meester) royal wedding. They resemble frosty pink cupcakes with humiliating little hats. It’s unknown how Serena (Blake Lively) got out of wearing one of those pink puffs, but she looks stunning in a floor length Vera Wang gown.

8. Parks and Recreation

Yes it’s cute that her best friend Anne (Rashida Jones) made her wedding dress out of press clippings, but basically Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler) is walking down the aisle in yesterday’s news with many pictures of her own face strewn all over this supposed wedding dress.

7. Downton Abbey

It may have been chic for the 1920s, but it comes off as frumpy and a little dumpy on Mary Crawley (Michelle Dockery). The dress is so plain and does nothing for Mary’s figure. Basically, she looks like a little girl playing dress up in her mommy’s 1920s closet.

6. Girls

First off, surprise weddings in general can be pretty tacky and can potentially irritate guests, but on top of it, Jessa wears a huge doily that she passes off as a wedding dress in the hit HBO show Girls. She looked like a hippy dressed in their grandmother’s tablecloth.

5. Friends

In the pilot episode of Friends, Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) walks into Central Perk wearing a wedding dress that should have been left outside in a gutter. It’s puffy, huge, and covered in sequins. The marker on her face when she gets married to Ross (David Schwimmer) in Vegas is a big improvement on this outfit.

4. Degrassi

Fans of the original Degrassi finally watched Simon (Michael Carry) and Alexa (Irene Courakos) walk down the aisle in the TV movie School’s Out. The dress, with its typical 90’s sateen and white puffy sleeves, is hilariously tacky and unforgettable.

In The episode “Wedding Bell Blues,” Brenda (Shannen Doherty), Donna (Tori Spelling), and Kelly (Jennie Garth) wore the most ridiculous pink tutu bridesmaids dresses for Kelly’s mom’s (Ann Gillespie) wedding to Mel (Matthew Lawrence). Wedding plans go awry and Jackie Taylor has her wedding at the Walshes and wears a white hat that looks like a bird is trying to escape from it.

2. Suddenly Susan

Vicki’s (Kathy Griffin) tacky and quirky style was famous on this ‘90s sitcom, but she outdid herself in her wedding episode. Susan (Brooke Shields) is decked out in a lime green ensemble that looks like the product of a union with a mariachi band and a Carmen Miranda headdress.

1. My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding

In every episode, the bride shocks audiences by wearing a dress that lights up, has over a million Swarovski crystals, a mile long train, or is animal themed, and yes, this is the same dress. These ladies never disappoint viewers as they take tacky and hideous weddings to a whole new level.
