9 Reasons Why Taylor Swift Totally Rocks

At one point, we all sneered at her for her serial dating habits and all the songs she wrote about each of her exes. In the last year, however, we have all seen a very different side of her and it has made us all fall in love with her. These days, everything is coming up Swifty. She can’t seem to do any wrong and everything she touches seems to turn to gold. We don’t know how you’re feeling but, right about now, we want to celebrate Taylor Swift and how awesome she is. Here are 9 reasons why she totally rocks!
9. She’s Charitable
The “Blank Space” singer is super charitable. This past December, DoSomething.org crowned her the most charitable celebrity, in part because of a donation that she provided to New York City schools. However, we can say with absolute certainty that she’s done a lot more than that. She’s also supported Feeding America, UNICEF and Habitat for Humanity, as well as other charitable organizations like the American Red Cross. She donated $100,000 to them to help victims of a 2008 flood in Iowa. We think that it’s only a matter of time before Taylor’s donating money to charities the same way Angelina Jolie, her idol, does.

Taylor Swift isn’t just another pretty face – she’s actually quite talented. She writes her own songs and plays the guitar, piano, banjo and ukulele. When she performs, she almost always sings live. She’s also made the smoothest transition from the country world to that of pop. We see nothing but bright things ahead for Swifty.

There was a time when Taylor Swift had no idea what being a feminist meant, but that’s changed since she became friends with Lena Dunham. She isn’t afraid to identify as a feminist and she encourages other women to do the same. Now that Taylor has jumped on the feminist bandwagon, we think that she is that much cooler.

It seems like Taylor Swift is friends with everyone. We see tons of pictures of her hanging out with her various celebrity friends, having a really good, wholesome time. Some of her best friends include Karlie Kloss, Gigi Hadid, Lorde, Selena Gomez, Hailee Steinfeld, Emma Stone, Ellie Goulding, Lily Aldridge, Lena Dunham, Sarah Hyland, Jaime King, Cara Delevingne and Ed Sheeran.
With the exception of Katy Perry, we think that it is safe to say that she has no enemies. She is the sort of celebrity that everyone wants to be friends with and with good reason – she’s totally awesome.
5. She Treats Her Fans Like Friends
The country-turned-pop singer is known for being totally awesome to her fans. She’s invited fans over to her place and baked them cookies; she sends her biggest fans Christmas care packages; she invited some of her fans to star in her music video for “Shake it Off;” she gave one fan $1989 to help pay off her student loan; she flew to Ohio to attend a fan’s bridal shower; and she invited fans to her place to listen to her 1989 before it was released. This is just the tip of the iceberg. Taylor loves her fans and treats them just as well as she does her friends.

The “Safe & Sound” singer is not the sort of person who takes herself that seriously. Have you seen her video for “Blank Space?” She does nothing but poke fun of at what people think of her and it’s actually quite funny. When it comes down to it, Taylor Swift is actually pretty silly and we love that about her.
3. She Stood Up for Musicians Everywhere By Challenging iTunes
When Apple announced that they would be launching a three-month free trial period for Apple Music’s streaming service, Taylor Swift wrote an open letter to Apple on her Tumblr, where she called them out for not compensating artists during their three-month trial period and announced that she would not be allowing Apple to include her album 1989 on their streaming service because of this.
Taylor’s open letter quickly convinced Apple executive Eddy Cue promptly to change the company’s policy, which he announced via Twitter. “Apple will always make sure that artist are paid #iTunes #AppleMusic… #AppleMusic will pay artist for streaming, even during customer’s free trial period… We hear you @taylorswift13 and indie artists. Love, Apple.” Taylor standing up for the little guys is truly impressive.

The “Shake it Off” singer has two of the cutest cats ever. Meredith and Olivia Benson are like furry children to her. Most of the world has fallen pretty head-over-heels for these two kitties thanks to all of the pictures and videos Swifty posts of them on Instagram. Crazy cat ladies have always gotten a really bad rap, until Taylor and her two Scottish fold kitties came along. Because of her, crazy cat ladies everywhere have gotten a little more respect.

When it comes to fashion, Taylor Swift never misses a beat. She looks amazing whenever she’s on the red carpet and her street style is equally great. Because of this, she’s become a bit of a trendsetter. We personally think that everyone could learn a thing or two about fashion from Swift.
