Alec Baldwin Stopped By Police For Riding Bike The Wrong Way!

(NEW YORK) — Alec Baldwin was stopped by police in New York City on Tuesday for riding his bicycle the wrong way on Fifth Avenue and was issued two summonses.

According to the New York Police Department, Baldwin, who did not have ID on him, was cycling north; the street is southbound. When stopped by police, he became belligerent. He received a summons for the wrong-way cycling, and another for disorderly conduct. He was taken to the local precinct and released.

A rep for Baldwin declined to comment, but a source told ABC News, “He was riding his bicycle the wrong way and he didn’t have ID on him.”

“Alec was not arrested and not charged with a crime,” another source told ABC News. “He received a summons relating to riding his bicycle the wrong way and not having identification. He is back home with his family.”

The actor, however, believes that he was arrested, and he doesn’t appear to be happy about it.

“Officer Moreno, badge number 23388, arrested me and handcuffed me for going the wrong way on Fifth Ave,” he tweeted.

He continued, “Meanwhile, photographers outside my home ONCE AGAIN terrified my daughter and nearly hit her with a camera. The police did nothing.

“New York City is a mismanaged carnival of stupidity that is desperate for revenue and anxious to criminalize behavior once thought benign,” he added.

Earlier this year, Baldwin penned a long article for New York magazine in which he declared that he was considering leaving New York City because of the intrusion into his private life.

“Everything I hated about L.A. I’m beginning to crave,” he wrote. “L.A. is a place where you live behind a gate, you get in a car, your interaction with the public is minimal. I used to hate that. But New York has changed…I’ve lived this for 30 years, I’m done with it.”
