(NEW YORK) — Would Drew Carey consider a move from CBS’ daytime lineup to its late-night schedule?
The Price Is Right host and Dancing with the Stars contestant has been floated as a possible replacement for David Letterman, who will retire from Late Show next year. However, Carey — who recently filled in for Craig Ferguson on CBS’ Late Late Show — says he has not engaged in talks with CBS regarding Letterman’s gig.
Carey quips to ABC News Radio, “I don’t honestly know how I could do the Letterman show in New York and The Price is Right in L.A. But, I’d like to try!”
It seems Carey would be much too reluctant to give up his day job: “The Price is Right is an American institution, they entrusted me to be a steward of the show, and it means so much to people and I have such a good time doing it.”
