The Best of Me is a sweet romantic drama starring James Marsden and Michelle Monaghan, based on the 2011 Nicholas Sparks novel of the same name. The film flips back and forth between current day and 1992, when the pair were young and in love, resulting in some serious nostalgia for the audience. While it was poorly received by critics, Sparks’ fans enjoyed (and continue to rewatch!) the film despite low ratings. After all, it’s romantic and tragic, making it a great film if you’re looking to have a good cry.
