Buffy The Vampire Slayer was a supernatural TV drama based on a 1992 movie of the same name and premise. It follows a high school girl as she fights forces of evil – particularly vampires – using her otherworldly powers while still trying to enjoy a typical teenage life. She’s a bit of a reluctant hero, learning to embrace her destiny with the help of her two best friends and her Watcher, Rupert.
The show was groundbreaking for the time, challenging stereotypes and openly presenting a core character who was gay, in a respectful way.
