Before her untimely end this week, L’Wren Scott was a celebrated fashion designer who was known for designing dresses that were beautiful, close fitting and stylish. Celebrities loved her and her dresses routinely won these actresses spots on best dressed lists. In memory of L’Wren Scott, here are 9 of her best designs on some of our favorite celebrities.

9. Madonna – London Film Festival (2011)

Some of the best dresses Madonna wore to events were designed by L’Wren Scott. She wore this signature L’Wren Scott fitted black dress with hot pink leaf details embroidered from the soulder to the hemline to the premiere of “W.E.” at the London Film Festival.

8. Shailene Woodley – Screen Actor Guild Awards (2012)

Shailene Woodley wore this silvery-blue sequined dress with red and white scattered flowers from the Spring/Summer 2012 collection by L’Wren Scott to the Screen Actor Guild Awards in 2012. This dress is definitely different from many of the other dresses L’Wren Scott has designed for celebrities, but it is still fresh and chic.

7. Jennifer Lawrence – Critic’s Choice Movie Awards (2011)

Jennifer Lawrence looked fabulous in this peach and gold sequin L’Wren Scott dress from the Spring 2011 collection that she wore to the Critics Choice Awards in 2011. Although the “Hunger Games” star had not yet made it big in Hollywood, this dress definitely got everyone’s attention.

6. Nicole Kidman – Cannes Film Festival (2013)

Nicole Kidman looked enchanting in this blue, red and black leaf print L’Wren Scott gown that she wore to the screening for “Inside Llewyn Davis” at the Cannes Film Festival. L’Wren Scott was one of “The Hours” star’s favorite designers. “She knows what aspects to accentuate in a woman, and is able to make you feel incredibly sexy and sophisticated when you are in one of her exquisite designs,” Kidman told the Telegraph.

5. Nicole Kidman – Academy Awards (2013)

Nicole  sparkled at the 85th Annual Academy Awards in this black and gold molten sequin tank gown from the L’Wren Scott collection. This gown is definitely a head turner. It is sleek and sexy and, like most of Scott’s designs, it highlights the contours of the female form quite well.

4. Christina Hendricks – DGA Awards (2010)

Christina Hendricks wore this burgundy L’Wren Scott dress with white feather broaches to the DGA Awards. She was a huge fan of L’Wren Scott’s designs and was often spotted wearing her dresses at events. “L’Wren’s clothes make you feel like a sexy pin-up, a sophisticated lady and a rockstar all at once. She designs for how women want to look and for what men want to look at,” the “Mad Men” actress said.
