Met Gala 2022: Red Carpet Hits & Misses

Published on May 3, 2022.

The stars of Hollywood definitely brought their A-game to the Met Gala red carpet this year. The 2022 theme was In America: An Anthology of Fashion which inspired some memorable ensembles, whether it be for the better or for the worse. Follow along as we roundup some of the 2022 Met Gala’s red carpet fashion hits and misses:

Miss: Kylie Jenner

Kylie Jenner opted for a bridal-inspired look for the 2022 Met Gala that we have to admit we weren’t the biggest fans of. While we love the dramatic ruffled skirt, the backwards baseball cap definitely conflicted the look.

Hit: Khloe Kardashian

Khloe Kardashian stole the show when she stepped out at the 2022 Met Gala wearing this gold beaded number. The dress fit her like a glove and we love that she accessorized with dramatic black accents to make the look feel unique and Met Gala-worthy.

Miss: Emily Ratajkowski

Model Emily Ratajkowski missed the mark with this colorful beaded look for the 2022 Met Gala. While we love a unique fashion moment for this event, this particular look had a lot going on at once from the fringe to the beading to the bold colors.

Hit: Kendall Jenner

Kendall Jenner dazzled at the 2022 Met Gala in this bold black number. We love a dramatic skirt moment that trails down the Met Gala steps and Kendall certainly didn’t disappoint with this look. It featured gorgeous ruffles and beading and truly stole the show.

Miss: Bella Hadid

Bella Hadid is typically one to watch when it comes to red carpet fashion, so we couldn’t help but feel a little disappointed with her look for the 2022 Met Gala. This black leather look feels like something we’ve seen many times on the Met Gala red carpet, which made it feel a little unmemorable.

Hit: Cardi B

Cardi B made heads turn in this stunning gold beaded number at the 2022 Met Gala. We love all the dramatic detailing and beading on this look, which truly made it stand out and feel like a work of art.

Miss: Sarah Jessica Parker

Sarah Jessica Parker is a fashion icon, but this look unfortunately wasn’t one of her best. The black and white checkered gown seemed to miss the mark of the “gilded glamour” theme of the event and we would have loved to see her wear something with a little more sparkle.

Hit: Hailey Bieber

Hailey Bieber looked angelic in this white silk number at the 2022 Met Gala. While this look is on the more simple side, we love that she incorporated some Met Gala glamour by layering the look with a feathered shawl which felt very old Hollywood.

Miss: Gigi Hadid

Gigi Hadid is another star who typically shines at the Met Gala, but we have to admit we didn’t love her ensemble this year. The maroon catsuit paired with an oversized balloon-like jacket definitely stood out as unique, but perhaps not for the right reasons.

Hit: Kim Kardashian

One of our favorite looks of the night had to be Kim Kardashian wearing the original dress that Marilyn Monroe wore during her “Happy Birthday, Mr. President” performance. Kim wasn’t able to alter the dress for the event, so she forced herself onto a strict diet and wore tall platform heels to make the dress fit perfectly.

Miss: Kourtney Kardashian

Kourtney Kardashian opted for a menswear-inspired look for the 2022 Met Gala that we felt a little disappointed by. The details on the skirt weren’t the most flattering and look as a wholdidn’t feel very glamorous or on theme.

Hit: Blake Lively

Our favorite look of the evening has to be Blake Lively’s stunning beaded look. The gown actually changed colors part way through her red carpet appearance which truly made for a show-stopping red carpet moment. She looks absolutely gorgeous and definitely nailed the “gilded glamour” theme of the event.
