Oscar de la Renta was one of the world’s most talented fashion designers. He was famous for his elegantly feminine designs and flattering silhouettes, which featured full skirts and fitted bodices. Sadly, he passed away due to complications from cancer. He was 82 years old. He fashioned some of the most famous celebrities and most of these ladies ended up on various best dressed lists thanks to his beautiful gowns. De la Renta may be gone, but his legacy will continue to live on. Check out some of his most fashionable dresses on 9 of Hollywood’s most popular celebrities!

9. Jennifer Garner

Even though some people don’t think there is anything remarkable about this black, silk taffeta Oscar de la Renta fishtail gown that Jennifer Garner wore to the 80th Academy Awards, we beg to differ. It proves one of Jennifer’s most remarkable quotes about the legendary designer. She said “He wasn’t afraid to pull back and let the woman be the star of the look.” And that’s exactly what he did with the gown below.
