The 2019 Teen Choice Awards took place in Hermosa Beach this year which made it a fun-filled, casual event in the sand! We love seeing all the playful, beach-inspired outfits that walked the red carpet this year. The event brought together some of the most loved teen idols with everyone from Taylor Swift to KJ Apa, and Zendaya! While we definitely gushed over quite a few outfits that walked the red carpet, there were also a few we were less than impressed by. Follow along as we rank all the best and worst looks from the 2019 Teen Choice Awards:
23. Best: Jennie Garth
Jennie Garth looked totally fabulous when she stepped out at the Teen Choice Awards wearing this neon pink blazer dress. The look was perfect for a beach event like the Teen Choice Awards. It was polished and sharp, but still bright and youthful because of the neon pink color and sparkling buttons. We also love how she styled this look with eye-catching yellow heels, which added another dimension to her look.

22. Worst: David Dobrik
David Dobrik was the co-host of the 2019 Teen Choice Awards which is why we were surprised to see that he stepped out on the red carpet wearing something this casual! We definitely understand that the Teen Choice Awards are more laid-back when it comes to fashion, but even just opting for a collared shirt would have totally elevated his outfit.

21. Best: Brie Bella
Brie Bella looks absolutely gorgeous at this year’s Teen Choice Awards where she stepped out wearing a belted purple number. We love how this look is flowy and casual but still a little glitzy. The high ponytail and hoop earrings added the perfect touch of red carpet glamour!
4
20. Worst: Candace Cameron
As much as we love Candace Cameron, we can’t say the same for the outfit she decided to wear this year for the Teen Choice Awards! While we love animal print, it’s tough to style two different animal prints together without making them clash. Unfortunately, that’s what happened with Candace Cameron’s ensemble this year.
5
19. Best: Sarah Hyland
Modern Family star Sarah Hyland made heads turn at this year’s Teen Choice Awards where she stepped out wearing a flirty two-piece set. We love how feminine, delicate and beachy this set looks on Hyland! The orange heels were also the perfect choice of shoe since it tied together with the straps of her crop top.
6
18. Worst: Noah Centineo
Noah Centineo is without a doubt one of this generation’s biggest teen heartthrobs! As gorgeous as he is, we wish he put a little more effort into his Teen Choice Awards look this year. The ripped jeans and casual flannel certainly wasn’t what we were expecting.
7
17. Best: Jessica Alba
Jessica Alba looked like an absolute dream at this year’s Teen Choice Awards where she stepped out wearing a flattering black dress with floral detailing. She accessorized with bold earrings and a glamorous black scarf, which totally pulled the look together.
8
16. Worst: Alex Morgan
Alex Morgan is stunning, but we can’t say we love the dress she opted for at the Teen Choice Awards this year! The full sequin dress felt like something we’ve seen done many times before at events like this. We would have loved to see something more unique!
9
15. Best: Maddie Ziegler
Maddie Ziegler totally stole the show when she stepped out at the 2019 Teen Choice Awards wearing this pastel blue suit! The look was sophisticated and well-fitted, but also super youthful and fun because of the bright color and pops of tangerine detailing!
10
14. Worst: Zhavia Ward
Zhavia Ward stepped out at the Teen Choice Awards wearing quite an interesting ensemble this year! The entire look seemed quite uncomfortable and stifling, especially given that the event was taking place on the beach. We wish Ward had opted for something a little more effortless and light.
11
13. Best: Maia Mitchell
Maia Mitchell looked super elegant and feminine in this floor-length gingham dress at the Teen Choice Awards! It was refreshing to see something flowy and whimsical among a sea of minidresses and shorts. The look was sophisticated and classy but still fun and lighthearted feeling.
12
12. Worst: KJ Apa
KJ Apa is obviously very handsome, but we have to admit we didn’t love this choice of an ensemble for this year’s Teen Choice Awards. The suit seemed improperly tailored and the pants were quite large on him, which wasn’t the most flattering.
13
11. Best: Laura Marano
Laura Marano wore such an eye-catching dress to this year’s Teen Choice Awards! We absolutely love how flattering this neon pink color looks on her. The mini-length cut and ruffle detailing of this dress are unique and fabulous without a doubt!
14
10. Worst: Brittany Snow
Brittany Snow stepped out at this year’s Teen Choice Awards wearing a black dress that featured a high-low ruffled skirt covered in polka dots. While we actually think this dress looks quite pretty on her, it simply doesn’t suit the event. The summery occasion called for bright colors and light textures, which this dress seemed to miss the mark on.
15
9. Best: Michelle Randolph
Michelle Randolph looked like a total bombshell at this year’s Teen Choice Awards where she attended with her boyfriend, Greg Sulkin. We love this dainty yellow dress on her which was the perfect combination of flirty with the ruffles and sultry with the cutouts along the bodice.
16
8. Worst: Nikki Bella
We, unfortunately, weren’t huge fans of Nikki Bella’s look for this year’s Teen Choice Awards! It almost felt reminiscent of a tracksuit, which overall was a little too casual feeling for the event. Despite this, we love how this champagne color compliments her dark features.
17
7. Best: Lucy Hale
Lucy Hale, best known for her role on Pretty Little Liars, was this year’s host for the Teen Choice Awards. While she had a few quick changes throughout the evening, we absolutely love the glitzy look she wore to walk the red carpet. The red and black mini dress is the perfect flirty number for a beach event!
18
6. Worst: Madison Beer
Madison Beer is a natural beauty, but we didn’t love her look at the Teen Choice Awards this year. The sequins on the skirt are super eye-catching, but the skirt itself seems uncomfortably short and stifling! It felt like a wardrobe malfunction waiting to happen.
19
5. Best: Emily Osment
Emily Osment looked chic and glam when she stepped out wearing this neon pink blazer set for the 2019 Teen Choice Awards! This look was perfectly suited for the occasion with the bright, fun color but sophisticated shape. We also love how she accessorized with snakeskin heels which added another unexpected pop of detail.
20
4. Worst: Lauren Jauregui
While we certainly love how flattering a little black dress is, we can’t say we’re huge fans Lauren Jauregui’s look for this year’s Teen Choice Awards. For a fun, youthful event on the beach, we would have loved to see her wear something in a bright color or playful print rather than this demure black dress.
21
3. Best: Zendaya
Zendaya stepped out at this year’s Teen Choice Awards wearing a pair of green shorts which she paired with an oversized yellow printed top. While this look is certainly not traditional, we absolutely love it! The shorts flawlessly showed off Zendaya’s long, slender legs and the pastel colors popped against her skin tone.
22
2. Worst: Megalyn Echikunwoke
While we love how flattering this bold neon green color looks on Megalyn Echikunwoke, we’re simply not convinced by the cut of this dress. We’re surprised that there wasn’t a wardrobe malfunction with how risky of a top this is!
23
1. Best: Taylor Swift
Taylor Swift is an absolute icon and we had high expectations for her look for the Teen Choice Awards this year. She walked the red carpet wearing a blazer and short set in a bold colorful pattern that was unlike anything we’ve ever seen before. We love that she stepped out of her comfort zone and wore something totally different. The risk definitely paid off!
