After a major delay in filming and a huge cast shakeup, season 16 of The Bachelorette is finally set to premiere this fall!

On Thursday, August 27, ABC announced that season 16 of The Bachelorette will debut with a two-hour premiere on Tuesday, October 13 at 8 p.m.

As well as premiering way later in the year due to the pandemic, this Bachelorette season will be like no other because it will feature two leads. As previously reported Clare Crawley, 39, was the original Bachelorette but quit mid-way through filming after she fell completely love in one contestant. Instead of giving up on the season, ABC called in a replacement with 29-year-old Tayshia Adams.

“Clare had women across America cheering from their living rooms when she famously stood up to controversial Bachelor Juan Pablo [Galavis] during the memorable 18th season finale of The Bachelor,” the release stated. “Clare left the season with a new sense of self-worth and a determination to never settle for anything less than the unconditional love and respect that she deserved. Follow her passionate, wild ride to find her soul mate and the explosive turn of events that will have all of Bachelor Nation talking.”

Despite the dramatic shakeup, ABC has yet to address the change in leads mid-season and so far all the promos have only featured Crawley. The most recent poster art plays off the iconic 1967 film The Graduate (because of Clare being the oldest Bachelorette lead). In the poster Crawley leans against a wall holding a rose while a mystery man is seen pulling up his sock. The tagline reads “It’s about time.”

The Bachelorette premieres Tuesday, Oct. 13 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
