Amy Poehler And Tina Fey To Take Over Hosting Duties For The 2021 Golden Globes

After the 2020 Golden Globes have concluded, news of next year’s ceremony host has been revealed – or rather, the hosts of the 2021 Golden Globes have been announced. Amy Poehler and Tina Fey will emcee the 2021 Golden Globes!

Poehler announced the news, posing as a NBC communications chief Chip Sullivan, on Saturday at the Television Critics Association’s Winter Press Tour.

“NBC has long been the home to two of the funniest people on the planet — Tina Fey and Amy Poehler — and we didn’t want to wait any longer to share the great news that they’ll be hosting the Globes once again,” said Paul Telegdy, chairman, NBC Entertainment.

“There’s no denying that Tina and Amy’s comedic chemistry is infectious,” stated Lorenzo Soria, president of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. “We can’t wait to see the dynamic duo return to the Golden Globes stage.”

Amy Thurlow, president of Dick Clark Productions, added: “Tina and Amy have provided Golden Globes viewers with some of the most memorable moments the show has ever seen, We’re thrilled to welcome them back in 2021.”

This isn’t the first time the former Saturday Night Live duo has hosted the Golden Globes. Fey and Poehler have hosted the award show three times previously, from 2013-2015. Most recently, Ricky Gervais hosted the 2020 Golden Globes. It was Gervais’ fifth time hosting, and his Golden Globes speech called out celebrities, organizations and companies, and also claimed it would be his last time hosting the award show.

No specific date for the 78th Annual Golden Globe Awards has been announced nor any other details.
