Angelina Jolie Moving Into Politics?

Angelina Jolie has made a name for herself in several ways including recently being named an honorary dame by Queen Elizabeth II for work fighting sexual violence globally and her work with foreign policy.

Even though the 39-year old actress has continued acting and is currently starring in and directing a movie that she wrote herself, it is clear Jolie’s interests span much further then her work as an actress.

She has been serving as a UN Goodwill Ambassador for almost 14 years and is also the director and special envoy for the UN High Commissioner for Refugees.

All of her hard work outside of acting has raised the question if the stunning actress is considering a career move away from acting.

For an upcoming issue of Vanity Fair, Jolie considered the question and stated, “I am open […] I honestly don’t know in what role I would be more useful. I am conscious of what I do for a living, and that could make it less possible.”

While she has often cited her career as an actress for possibly not being taken seriously in a different role, she would not be the first member of Hollywood’s elite to enter the world of politics, Arnold Schwarzenegger was the Governor of California from 2003-2011.

As well, actions from Hollywood’s young stars such as Emma Watson, have shown having a familiar face in politics gains a greater interest in the subjects.

For right now, Jolie is busy filming her movie, By the Sea which co-stars husband Brad Pitt whom she recently married in a secret ceremony surrounded by their six children.
