Angelina Says She And Brad Were Married Before Wedding

When Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt finally got married in a private ceremony in France last summer everyone couldn’t believe how long it took for the long time couple to take the plunge.

However, it turns out the two A-listers were actually legally wed before the big day  Jolie recently revealed to Italian magazine Io Donna.

“Before the wedding in France with the kids, Brad and I were already married in California. As Americans we couldn’t marry legally in France,” she confessed.

While she didn’t say how far in advance the duo got hitched she said it was not a big deal at all, “One day I said to Brad, ‘Let’s meet up at 4:30 pm?’ I called a justice of the peace and we signed the documents.”

Pitt and Jolie’s wedding on August 23, 2014 at their Chateau Miraval estate in France was a huge day for not only the couple but the entire family.

Jolie donned a wedding dress decorated with drawings done by her children and was escorted down the aisle by their eldest sons Maddox and Pax while Shiloh and Knox served as ring bearers, and Zahara and Vivienne acted as flower girls for their parents’ big day.

Jolie was in Italy on Thursday for a screening of her new film Unbroken after which she met Pope Francis at the Vatican.
