Another World Star Anne Heche Has Passed Away

Anne Heche, the soap opera star who rose to the heights of Hollywood fame, has passed away at the age of 53.

The actress succumbed to injuries she sustained on August 5th, when her car careened through an intersection and crashed into a Los Angeles home. She was pulled from the flaming wreckage unconscious and in critical condition.

The soap opera world reacted to Heche’s demise with strong emotions, remembering the young talent who gave an Emmy-winning performance on Another World

“So tragic and heartbreaking,” General Hospital star Laura Wright tweeted

“Her performance as Victoria/Marley on Another World touched the world and lives on in our memories,” the Daytime Emmys tweeted. “Our sincerest sympathies.”

“A staggering talent who fought a lifetime of demons,” soaps writer Michael Logan tweeted. “We old-timey soap fans will rave about her Emmy-winning work as Vicky and Marley on Another World until we no longer care about magic. Rest well, you blazing star!”

While the star’s condition was initially described as stable, Heche’s family soon revealed that the circumstances were much more dire.

“Anne suffered a severe anoxic brain injury and remains in a coma, in critical condition,” a representative for the star told People. “She is not expected to survive.”

Heche was declared legally deceased on the afternoon of August 12th.

“Today we lost a bright light, a kind and most joyful soul, a loving mother, and a loyal friend,” a representative for Heche shared in a statement to People.

“Anne will be deeply missed but she lives on through her beautiful sons, her iconic body of work, and her passionate advocacy,” the statement continued. “Her bravery for always standing in her truth, spreading her message of love and acceptance, will continue to have a lasting impact.”
