Azealia Banks’ Attacks Iggy Azalea On Twitter
Published on December 5, 2014.To be fair, Iggy Azalea doesn’t do much to deserve the attacks she has gotten on social media lately from other stars starting with Snoop Dogg who had a social media feud with the stars for days after posting an offensive Instagram joke about the Australian rapper.
Azalea is now at the centre of another social media feud, this time with female singer/rapper Azealia Banks who took to her Twitter account to discuss her outrage after a grand jury decided not to indict a police officer who killed an unarmed black man, Eric Garner, in Staten Island.
The decision came a week after a police officer who killed an unarmed black teen, Michael Brown, in Ferguson, Missouri was also not indicted.
Although there has reportedly been beef between Iggy and Banks before, for whatever reason Banks’ fury of the injustice against black people led her to personally attacking Iggy on Twitter.
Banks began by writing how she needs to know “how to get involved and how to help and stop this…” but then started her attacks on Iggy by referring to her as “Igloo Australia.”
“Its funny to see people Like Igloo Australia silent when these things happen… Black Culture is cool, but black issues aren’t huh?,” she tweeted.
She continued on by ranting about Iggy being compared to Nicki Minaj, “Nicki is a hard-working rap-BEAST, stop trying to degrade and BELITTLE Our culture with this f–king kkk iggy s–t.” She then began to tweet directly at Iggy asking “what her fascination with Black women is…”
Iggy took her time addressing the flood on her Twitter account but finally did address the situation tweeting, “Theres more to sparking a change than trolling on social media. World issues shouldnt be used as a poor excuse to promote fan battles.”
She then went on to try to suggest ways to actually help and be active about concerning issues and never responded to Banks directly.
As well as using deregotory terms for Iggy and T.I. Banks also used homophobic slurs against people like Perez Hilton and in one of her last tweets even addressed the Bill Cosby scandal, “from police murders, to macklemore and igloo australia….They are even trying to tear down our father figure BILL COSBY.”
