We’re so thankful for people like Juan Pablo and Nikki Ferrell. If they weren’t looking for some contractual obligations, we’d all forget that VH1 existed. Fortunately, they’re game for some Couples Therapy.
Out here in the thick of things (Los Angeles), we refer to networks such as VH1 and MTV as the Viacom stepchildren. They just don’t get the love that the children like Paramount Pictures get. It’s necessary for these networks to rely on celebrities from other realms of reality TV to step in, and boost the viewership of all things VH1.
Once upon a time, these networks actually operated on small budgets and played a ton of music videos… but, that’s enough for Tuesday’s digression.
As stated in the headline, Juan Pablo Galavis and Nikki Ferrell have agreed to join the cast of VH1’s Couples Therapy. This will be the fifth season of the show, and this couple will surely draw the attention of more than a few viewers–the ultimate win for VH1. Juan Pablo was, of course, a former star of The Bachelor, and Nikki is his adoring sweet-girl. Unlike many of The Bachelor seasons that preceded the joining of Juan Pablo and Nikki, there was no awkward proposal–Juan Pablo is overly discerning, and that doesn’t really fit his m.o.
Does this mean that Juan Pablo and Nikki are experiencing problems? No. Not at all. According to the couple, it’s just the opposite. Couples Therapy will be just another way they can grow closer together, and become a better tandem. They claim to be going strong, and are looking forward to the opportunity of sitting with professional counselor, Dr. Jenn Berman, to hash a few things and gain some insight.
