Bachelor Nation’s Corinne Olympios And Dean Unglert Slam New Bachelor Colton Underwood

ABC

Early in September it was confirmed that Colton Underwood, who came fourth in Becca Kufrin’s season of The Bachelorette before testing the waters again on Bachelor in Paradise, would be the next star of The Bachelor, and ever since many have been reacting to the news including Bachelor Nation’s alum.

It seems a few of them aren’t big fans of ABC’s choice for the season 23 Bachelor including Corinne Olympios and Dean Unglert.

“I just have some insincere feelings from him,” Olympios said during a radio interview on the Domenick Nati ShowTuesdayShe then went on to reveal that she thinks Underwood is lying about being a virgin, which is of course going to be a central focus during his Bachelor journey. “I do think that was a lie. I just don’t buy it,” she said.

Olympios added that she would have preferred if Becca’s runner-up Blake Horstmann had been chosen, but said her advice for Underwood is:  “Don’t let the fame get to your head. I don’t like guys who get cocky after that.”

“Good luck in the fantasy suites … not like he’d know good from bad anyway,” she added.

With Olympios making it clear how she feels, Dean Unglert who also appeared on The Bachelorette and Bachelor in Paradise, also didn’t have the nicest of things to say about Underwood’s upcoming turn as the Bachelor lead.

“I love Colton, don’t get me wrong — but [he’s] not my Bachelor,” said Unglert, 27. “You know, he’s a little young. He’s younger than me,” Unglert said. “He might be more advanced in his life than I am, but I don’t necessarily see him marrying the woman that he chooses … for a plethora of reasons. One, I don’t think he knows exactly what he wants.” He added that he thinks Underwood is going to “do what he thinks people will want him to do, and not necessarily what’s right for him.”

“I imagine Colton’s season going the same way mine would [have], where he wants to do right by everyone and wants no one to hate him and that’s going to just go ahead and bite him right ahead in the butt,” he said. “I’d be a horrible Bachelor for the same reasons Colton would be horrible and will be horrible.”

“He’s a very nice person,” he added. “He’s well-intentioned. He’s beautiful. I just think it’s going to be a dumpster fire.”

Regardless of everyone’s opinions, Underwood has showed nothing but enthusiasm and said he is more than ready to settle down.

“This is the perfect time in my life to do this,” he said. “I’m so unbelievably happy with myself and now I can focus on finding my wife. I’m so excited to find that. My heart is 100 percent healed and I’m going to give this my all. And hopefully I’ll come out of it engaged!”

The Bachelor premieres in January on ABC.
