After a lot of anticipation, Fox is revealing more about the upcoming Beverly Hills, 90210 revival!

On Wednesday, May 8, the network released the first teaser trailer for the upcoming series and also revealed that a premiere date for the series which has officially been titled BH90210 is set for August 7, 2019.

The teaser trailer doesn’t really show how the series will play out, but gave fan service by showing the series’ original stars including Tori Spelling, Jason Priestley, Jennie Garth, Shannen Doherty, Brian Austin Green, and Ian Ziering all coming together for the first table read for the series as nostalgic music plays.

Back in February of this year, after years of speculation about a revival, Fox finally confirmed it was bringing many of the iconic teen drama’s cast back together for a series. BH90210 isn’t a typical revival however because the stars aren’t playing their beloved characters, but rather “heightened versions” of themselves in a huge twist from the network.

“The core cast will all play heightened versions of themselves in a brand-new serialized drama — with a healthy dose of irreverence – that is inspired by their real lives and relationships. Having gone their separate ways since the original series ended 19 years ago, Jason, Jennie, Ian, Gabrielle, Brian and Tori reunite when one of them suggests it’s time to get a Beverly Hills, 90210 reboot up and running. But getting it going may make for an even more delicious soap than the reboot itself. What will happen when first loves, old romances, friends and frenemies come back together, as this iconic cast — whom the whole world watched grow up together — attempts to continue from where they left off?”

Although fans will have to wait and see how this twist plays out, they are happy to see that Shannen Doherty has joined the series after previously not being involved. Doherty confirmed the news in late April, nearly two months after the other stars had signed on.

Additionally, there is no doubt that emotions will be running high after the passing of iconic Beverly Hills, 90210 star Luke Perry. Fox announced the revival one day before Perry’s stroke which eventually led to his death days later on March 4, 2019 and at the time said he would not be taking part because of his commitments to other roles, namely as Fred Andrews on Riverdale but were leaving the “door open” if he did want to take part. With Perry’s passing the stars will most definitely touch upon the loss as they bring the show back that shot him into superstardom as Dylan McKay.
