Beyonce’s Coachella performance has been a longtime coming, but the singer made it worth the wait with her incredible set that lasted nearly two hours!
Y’all ready, Coachella?” she asked as she kicked off her set with an incredible entrance, displaying her first of many outfits. The 36-year-old ran through several hits starting with her very first solo single from 2003, “Crazy in Love.” She then transitioned into “Freedom,” “Formation” and “Sorry” from her 2016 visual album, Lemonade. During “Sorry,” she mixed in verses from two early fan favorites: “Me, Myself and I” and “Kitty Kat.”
She ran through several more songs and outfits and even had husband Jay-Z on stage for a brief cameo for the couple’s 2006 song “Déjà Vu,” but it was the reunion of Destiny’s Child that made the crowd go absolutely crazy. “Thank you for letting me be the first black woman to headline Coachella,” Beyonce said before launching into “Run the World” which led into Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams joining her on stage. The three performed three of their biggest Destiny’s Child “Lose My Breath,” “Say My Name” and “Soldier.” She then thanked the two ladies for joining her saying, “I love y’all.”
At the end of her impressive set, Beyonce shared a message with her fans,“I’m so happy that I am here. I was supposed to perform at Coachella [last year] but I ended up getting pregnant — thank God! So I had time to dream and dream and dream with two beautiful souls in my belly. … Thank you guys for sharing this with me. I hope y’all enjoyed the show.”
