Brad Pitt took the children of his late friend Chris Cornell to Universal Studios in Hollywood on May 31, according to Us Weekly.
The well-known heartthrob arranged a private tour for Cornell’s two children; 12-year-old daughter Toni and 11-year-old son Christopher. The rocker is also survived by his 16-year-old daughter Lillian from a previous marriage who was not in attendance. The source revealed to Us Weekly that, “Brad and the kids looked happy and definitely were enjoying themselves.”
Social media confirmed the sighting where photos were posted of Pitt and the children sipping butterbeer drinks from Harry Potter World and enjoying the Jurassic Park ride. Pitt’s efforts to console the children during an extremely difficult time are surely much appreciated and helping to ease the traumatic experience the Cornell family is enduring.
Cornell died at age 52 on May 17 after performing at a concert in Detroit with his band. A police from the Detroit region explained to Us Weekly that a family friend discovered Cornell in the bathroom of his hotel room. The cause of death was later confirmed as suicide. His wife, Vicki Cornell, made an official statement claiming that a prescription drug could have been involved in the suicide. A full autopsy for confirmed details of the death are still pending.
Family and friends including Pitt himself, Pharrell, James Hetfield, Dave Navarro and Tom Morello attended Cornell’s private memorial service at Hollywood Forever Cemetery.
