Britney Spears Ask For Prayers For Her Niece Maddie After ATV Accident

The Spears family has remained fairly silent following reports that Jamie Lynn Spears’ 8-year-old daughter Maddie Aldridge had been involved in a serious ATV accident, but now Britney Spears is asking for prayers.
The pop star took to her Instagram on Monday, February 6 to share a picture of Maddie along with the words, “Need all the wishes and prayers for my niece.”
According to reports, Maddie was riding in a Polaris off-road vehicle while on a “hunting expedition” when the vehicle flipped over into a pond. Maddie was then submerged in water while still strapped to the ATV and was allegedly unconscious and underwater for several minutes before she was airlifted to a nearby hospital.
New reports indicate that “because she was strapped in, they couldn’t get her out immediately. Rescue workers had to get her out,” and she is now in “stable but critical condition.” “The ATV and child were instantly submerged in the water right before their eyes. Within seconds the child’s mother, stepfather and other family members reached the pond, dove in and attempted to rescue the child to no avail. The child was trapped and secured by the seatbelt and the ATV’s safety netting,” the sheriff”s report from the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office read.
Meanwhile Jamie Lynn and Britney’s father also made a short statement: “All I can say is pray for our baby Maddie.”
