Controversy erupted on the internet yet again not too long ago surrounding Caitlyn Jenner when Halloween costume stores revealed their very own Caitlyn Jenner costume inspired by her infamous Vanity Fair photo shoot.

While many took to social media to slam the costume as disrespectful and offensive, it turns out the one person who doesn’t think so is the person it is based on.

In a sneak peek for I Am Cait, Jenner, 65, does an interview with the Today show’s Matt Lauer in which he asks, “When you hear that there are companies out there that want to do Caitlyn Jenner costumes for Halloween from the Vanity Fair cover, are you in on the joke or do you think it’s offensive?”

“I’m in on the joke,” Jenner replied. “I don’t think it’s offensive at all. I know the community does and they’ve gotten a lot of criticism for doing it. I think it’s great.” In fact, Jenner went on to joke about the costume, which comes with a brown wig and corset like the one Jenner donned for the cover photo. “To be honest with you, I think it’s great. They could have a better outfit for him, you know? We could have done my own costume. I mean that was a serious bustier on the cover of Vanity Fair, you know?”

Spirit Halloween, the chain that sells the costume responded to one angry person on Twitter with, “At Spirit Halloween, we sell many costumes for celebrities, heroes and superheroes. Caitlyn Jenner is all of these.”
