Cate Blanchett, 45, is a mom once again after the Cinderella actress’s reps confirmed that she and husband Andrew Upton, 49, have adopted a baby girl in a vague statement: “The Upton family (Cate Blanchett and Andrew Upton) have adopted a baby girl. No further details will be provided.”

Although the star is keeping quiet about her new daughter’s name or specifics surrounding the adoption, we do know that she is being welcomed into a raucous household with three older brothers, Dashiell -13, Roman -10, and Ignatius -6.

Not long after her last son was born, Blanchett was already admitting that she wanted a bigger family, “I’d love to have more children,” she stated a year after welcoming Ignatius. “Just when, I don’t know,” she continued.

“But the thing is, we hadn’t planned any of the others. They just popped out. So you shouldn’t plan these things. If it happens, it would be great.”

While there had to be some planning with an adoption, it seems Blanchett is over the moon about having another child, especially finally having another girl in the house as she also previously stated: “It’s true you do get a bit demented [with the three boys]. The chaos of it is great.”

Upton is a playwright and screenwriter and met Blanchett while working on the set of a TV show in 1996 and the two were married only a year later in 1997.

Congratulations to the family!
