As many series wrap up another season, or wrap up entirely, television’s biggest networks are releasing their new fall lineups which include plenty of highly anticipated new series.

Back in early March, CBS announced that they were working on a new comedy starring former NCIS star Pauley Perrette, and the network has now confirmed that they have ordered the new show titled Broke, to series.

The series comes from creator Alex Herschlag and a logline reads: “When an outrageously wealthy trust fund baby is cut off by his father, he and his wife move into her estranged sister’s Reseda home, forcing the two siblings to reconnect.”

Early descriptions had Perrette playing Jackie, a single mom and bar manager who takes in her flat-broke sister and brother-in-law. The early logline read: “The manager of a bar, Jackie is feisty, not easily cowed, sometimes hot-headed, the kind of woman who knows her way around a toolbox and an acetylene torch. She’s not thrilled when her snobby rich sister and husband suddenly show up on her doorstep, but she comes to remember how much she loves her sister and learns to appreciate them both in her life.”

In addition to Broke, CBS also revealed it had ordered Carol’s Second Act starring Patricia Heaton and Kyle MacLachlan with a logline reading, “After raising her two children and retiring from teaching, Carol Chambers embarks on a unique second act: pursuing her dream of becoming a doctor.”

Broke marks a quick return to CBS from Perrette who memorably left NCIS in May 2018 after starring on the iconic TV police procedural for 15 seasons as Abbt Sciuto.
