Cheryl Burke Returns To Dancing With The Stars
Published on September 5, 2017.Fan favorite pro dancer Cheryl Burke is officially returning to Dancing with the Stars this upcoming season!
The dancer took to Instagram to share the news and captioned the photo, “Guess who’s back in the ballroom?! So excited to share that I’m officially back for my 20th season of Dancing With the Stars. This dance floor will always be my home and I’ve got my eyes on that mirror ball,” adding the hashtags “#bringonthespraytans #dwts.”
Burke will be dancing alongside the twelve pro dancers that were announced last week: Alan Bersten, Keo Motsepe, Artem Chigvintsev, Maks Chmerkovskiy, Val Chmerkovskiy, Gleb Savchenko, Mark Ballas, Lindsay Arnold, Peta Murgatroyd, Emma Slater, Sharna Burgess and Witney Carson.
Burke has won two Mirrorball Trophies during her time on the series and her last time on the ABC dance floor was on season 23. It was confirmed that Burke would not be returning to season 24 to instead join the Dance Moms cast after Abby Lee Miller announced her abrupt departure.
Burke has taken quite a different instructing approach than Dance Moms fans were previously used to. “I am approaching it differently. I don’t scream or yell — I don’t believe in that,” Burke told Steve Harvey. “But don’t get me wrong, I’m still — from people that have seen me on Dancing with the Stars — I am still strict, I’m stern and I expect the best out of my students. But I do it in a way that’s loving and it’s caring, and I try not to intimidate them or traumatize the kids.”
