CSI: Vegas Star William Petersen Hospitalized Due To Exhaustion On Set

CSI: Vegas star William Petersen was hospitalized on Friday due to exhaustion.

According to PEOPLE, the 68-year-old actor had to stop filming as he began “not feeling well.” Petersen’s publicist shared that he “is exhausted from long hours on set for the past 12 weeks and was taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure.”

As per TMZ, an ambulance was called to set and Petersen was transported to a medical center. Since then, he’s been released and is in stable condition.

Petersen is reprising his role as Gil Grissom in the new sequel series from the long-running show CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. CBS first announced a series order for CSI: Vegas in March. The show will be a sequel to the original series and is set to premiere on CBS on October 6th.

CBS has described the new series “a brilliant new team of forensic investigators [who] must welcome back old friends and deploy new techniques to preserve and serve justice in Sin City” as they face an “existential threat that could bring down the Crime Lab.”

Aside from returning to his role as Gil, Peterson is also an executive producer on CSI: Vegas, as he was on the original CSI. His work on the show has awarded him a Screen Actors Guild award, nominated him for a Golden Globe and earned him three Emmy nominations as a producer on the show.
