Dancing With the Stars Recap: Lindsey Stirling And Jordan Fisher Take The Lead
Published on October 3, 2017.This week’s episode of Dancing with the Stars came amid the aftermath of the Las Vegas shooting and the show opened by taking a few moments to acknowledge all those who were affected by the tragedy. Drew Scott, who is a Las Vegas local, opened the show with his routine which followed the night’s theme of “guilty pleasures.” Follow along for a recap of last night’s performances:
Drew Scott’s guilty pleasure was true crime reality shows so the two performed an Argentine Tango that Len Goodman called his best dance yet. The two received a 23/30. Alan Bersten and Vanessa Lachey tied with this duo and performed a jazz routine to show Lachey’s guilty pleasure of “girls’ night out.” Victoria Arlen and Val Chmerkovskiy followed close behind by landing a 22/30 for their quickstep routine to Victoria’s guilty pleasure song “Tubthumping.”
Four dancers landed near the bottom of the pack with a score of 21/30. Derek Fisher’s guilty pleasure was The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air where he attempted to impersonate Will Smith with his cha cha routine that was underwhelming. Nikki Bella matched Fisher’s score as she performed a 50 Shades of Grey themed Viennese Waltz that felt a little awkward. Frankie Muniz performed a samba to ‘NSync with partner Witney Carson to encapsulate his guilty pleasure of boy bands which also landed them a 21/30. Similarly, Nick Lachey and Peta Murgatroyd along with Terrell Owens and Cheryl Bruke finished with 21/30.
The worst of the night though was Sasha Pieterse and Gleb Savchenko who received a low of 19 for their jazz routine which the judges thought didn’t show off Pieterse’s dancing abilities well enough.
For last night’s frontrunners, Jordan Fisher and Lindsay Arnold performed a superhero-themed routine and landed a high 25/30. Lindsey Stirling and partner Mark Ballas went for a pajama-themed jive that was coined the best dance of the season so far and landed the highest score yet of a 27/30.
