‘Dancing With The Stars’ Week Five Recap: Which Couple Went Home?

ABC

It was another exciting week for Dancing with The Stars, but that’s not to say it didn’t come with a lot of emotion and drama!

Val Chmerkovskiy and Monica Aldama were given their best score yet for their rumba dedicated to Aldama’s husband. Skai Jackson wasn’t as lucky, however, and ended up making a few mistakes during her routine that cost her some points.

Nelly impressed the judges with his Viennese waltz, while Chrishell Stause brought the emotion with her contemporary routine dedicated to her parents, who both passed from lung cancer.

Another exciting highlight of the night was when Derek Hough returned to the dance floor for the first time in three years for a routine with his girlfriend, Hayley Erbert, who used to be a troupe member on the show. The duo performed a sizzling Paso Doble to Taalbi Brothers’ “Uccen.”

At the end of the two-hour episode, it was revealed that Vernon Davis and Johnny Weir had landed in the bottom two. Davis and his partner Peta Murgatroyd danced the Cha-Cha to “Celebration” by Kool & The Gang which landed them a 21/30, while Weir and his partner Britt Stewart performed a Salsa routine to “On The Floor” by Jennifer Lopez ft. Pitbull receiving a score of 22/30.

Ultimately, the judges decided to save Weir which meant former NFL player Vernon Davis and Peta Murgatroyd were sent home.

Dancing with the Stars airs Mondays (8 p.m. ET) on ABC.
