As the cast of Ryan Murphy’s new anthology series American Crime Story gear up for the first season, The People v O.J. Simpson, they are looking for help in researching their roles.

Friends alum David Schwimmer, 48, landed the role of Simpson’s attorney, the late Robert Kardashian, and has reached out to none other than his ex-wife Kris Jenner to help him prepare for portraying Kardashian.

“I was lucky enough to speak to [Jenner] for a few hours who was very generous with her time. I thought, ‘Who better to tell me who Robert was as a husband and a father than her?’ And it’s been a very exciting process so far,” he told the Associated Press.

The series is lining up many big names for the famous case including Cuba Gooding Jr. as O.J. Simpson, John Travolta as Robert Shapiro and just yesterday it was announced Selma Blair will be portraying Kris Jenner.

“People keep asking me whether I think he did it or not, and I don’t think that’s the goal here,” Gooding told reporters about the show. “I think it’s more us putting the judicial system under the spotlight. … We try to find a truth in the moment so that we can find answers. I think this 10 hours of television is gonna be very powerful, and I think a lot of people are going to learn a lot.”

Robert and Kris were married from 1978-1991, and are the parents of now famous reality stars Kim, Kourtney, Khloe and Rob Kardashian. Robert Kardashian died in 2003 at the age of 59 only eight weeks after receiving his diagnosis of esophageal cancer.
