A source told TMZ that Kris did know about Bruce’s tendency to want to dress as woman, though. Apparently, they discussed this as long as 25 years ago, but that the subject never came up again over the course of their relationship.
The insider said that Kris knew a little more about Bruce’s gender identity than she let on, but that she never specifically knew that he wanted to become a woman until after their divorce. In fact, Bruce told his children about this desire before he told Kris.
Bruce is set to sit down with Diane Sawyer and tell all about his transition on ABC on Friday, April 24.
In a teaser clip for the interview, the former Olympian, 65, says he is nervous about how everything is affecting his children.
“Those are the only ones I’m concerned with,” Jenner revealed. “I can’t let myself hurt them.”
Jenner is the biological father of six children including Kylie and Kendall Jenner and the stepfather of Kourtney, Kim, Khloe, and Rob Kardashian.
Bruce’s transition is not an impulsive decision; he has been thinking about it for decades. “My whole life has been getting me ready for this,” he said.
