This week’s Dancing With the Stars was highlighting Dynamic Duos and had the seven remaining couples celebrate famous duos throughout history, both real and fictional.
The couple with the highest score became safe from elimination while the remaining pairs had to dance against each other for bonus points, finally leaving someone eliminated from the competition.
Janel Parrish and Val Chmerkovskiy channelled history’s most famous couple as Romeo and Juliet, with a very huge pay off. Their dance routine garnered both high praises and the highest scores, getting a perfect 40 out of 40.
NASCAR racer Michael Waltrip and partner Emma Slater went back to the basics as Tarzan and Jane dancing the Foxtrot. Unfortunately, it seems neither racecar drivers or Tarzan are meant to dance as they earned the lowest score of the night with 25 out of 40.
Sadie Robertson and Mark Ballas as Adam and Eve fell just short of top spot with 38 points.
The same goes for Alfonso Ribeiro and Witney Carson who became the crimefighting duo of Batman and Robin earning 38 points.
Bethany Mota and Derek Hough fell to the middle of the pack even by gaining 37 points as Lucy and Ricky Ricardo.
Tommy Chong and Peta Murgatroyd avoided last place by one point after dancing the paso doble as Johnny and June Cash.
After intense dance-offs which gained Tommy, Bethany, and Alfonso bonus points, it proved to be the last lap for Michael Waltrip as he was eliminated from the competition.
While disappointed with his elimination, Waltrip was very grateful for his time on the show, “I just grew so much emotionally, and I’m a better person because of my tenure here.”
With only six left and the battle for top spot increasingly closer and closer, the battle for the Mirrorball Trophy is really heating up.
