For those in need of more evidence that politics are inherently evil, consider Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Rosie O’Donnell. Two individuals who were once so adorable, and both are now difficult to stomach in more than very small doses. Yes. You guessed it. Elisabeth is very upset that Rosie O’Donnell is in talks to take back a chair on The View.
Hot dang, it is sorrowful to think back on life, and remember the Rosie O’Donnell from A League of Their Own and Beautiful Girls. She was so charming. And it’s almost devastating to watch any footage of the second season of Survivor, and see the sweet, fresh-faced, 22/23 year old Elisabeth Filarski (be still my heart), exuding enviable kindness toward her fellow competitors.
What happened!?
Politics. That’s what. It’s sick and sad. Sick. And. Sad.
Down at The View, they’re hurting for outspoken know-it-alls, and it seems that Rosie has been invited back into the mix. When Elisabeth (who is now on Fox and Friends) got the news, she felt the need to sound off. Sure, Elisabeth and Rosie went a few rounds when they were both on the show, but they were generally amicable, regardless of their buying into–and casting a bright spotlight on–their differences.
It’s heartbreaking. Two women who used to be fun. Rosie hosting her own talk show devoid of agenda, and Elisabeth offering us The Look For Less. Put away your claws, ladies. When you get to the point that you only appeal to a niche, your act is then considered shtick.
The View does not need Rosie, but Elisabeth needs to pocket a few more of her opinions, especially when she’s basing them on conjecture… which you can see in the video below.
