Emilia Clarke, 27, is no stranger to racy scenes, as one of the stars of the very sexual HBO series Game of Thrones but the actress could have starred in an almost entirely erotic based movie had she taken the role of Anastasia Steele in the Fifty Shades of Grey flick.
While everyone knows drama ensued when the original Christian Grey, Charlie Hunnam, backed out causing producers to go with Jamie Dornan instead, it turns out Clarke was also originally considered for the other starring role that went to Dakota Johnson.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the British beauty admitted she was “concerned” with the role, “No regrets. I’d done nudity before and was concerned with being labeled for doing it again,” she said of passing up the blockbuster role.
In fact, the next big screen role the actress did take was a much stronger, and action-packed one, starring as Sarah Connor in Terminator Genisys due out July 1, however her stardom as Daenrys Targaryen will always be what she is known for.
“Never in a million years did I think Game of Thrones was going to take off like it did. It’s taken me five years to catch up with it. I’m still not sure I’m there,” she said of the massive success of the series.
