Dancing with the Stars can be an emotional experience — it even made Alfonso Ribeiro cry on camera!
After injuring his back durin rehearsals, the 43 year-old Fresh Prince actor was nervous about his ability to perform on the dance competition show. “I really want to keep going, but I just don’t know if the body’s gonna let me continue,” he said.
However, Alfonso pushed through the pain in his dance, a dream-inspired routine in which he and partner Witney Carson performed in pajama-like costumes.
Alfonso was able to lift Witney several times, impressing both the audience and the judges. “You’re a fighter,” judge Julianne Hough said over audience applause as Alfonso began to cry. “Tonight you can tell that you’re in pain, but you’re a fighter and you’re going to keep going.
Host Tom Bergeron asked Alfonso if his tears stemmed from pain. “A little bit, yeah,” he admitted.
But he still had one more dance to perform. “I’m not gonna quit, so here we go,” Alfonso said with determination. “Couple more to go.”
