The March 27th premiere of the Roseanne revival is fast approaching, but with less than a month to go before the big comeback fans still haven’t seen a lot of what to expect…until now!
During the 2018 Oscars, the first full length trailer for the revival finally aired, and is out to prove that it the revival will be everything fans would want it to be with all the Conners back in action along with some new faces, and the same humor.
In a teaser trailer that was previously released, a sound clip can be heard of Roseanne saying to Dan “I thought you were dead” and in the new trailer, we see the moment she says it alluding to the fact that in the original series Dan Conner died from a heat attack, but is alive and well in the revival. “Why does everybody always think I’m dead?” John Goodman’s Dan replies.
Of course, as Roseanne Barr previously explained in an interview, the only way she was going to come back was if Goodman was involved. It’s like going home again, for sure … It was so exiting. It was like no time had passed,” the comedian, 65, said. “Sara Gilbert is the person that put it together after John and she did a sketch on her talk show, The Talk. She called me, she goes ‘Would you want to do it? John wants to do it!’ I said ‘Hell yeah. If John’s in, I’m in.’”
The revival features almost the entire original cast including of course Barr and Goodman as well as Laurie Metcalf (Jackie Harris), Lecy Goranson (Becky), Sara Gilber (Darlenet), Michael Fishman (D.J.) and even Johnny Galecki will make an appearance as David while Sarah Chalke, who played the role of Becky for three seasons, is also in the show but as a different character. Meanwhile Dan and Roseanne’s youngest son Jerry will not have a role with his absence being explained that that he is working on a fishing boat in Alaska.
Roseanne premieres on ABC Tuesday, March 27, at 8 p.m. ET.
