Former Glee actor Mark Salling plead guilty to possession of child pornography on Monday, December 18 when he appeared in a Los Angeles court.
According to reports, Salling admitted that he possessed 25,000 images of children engaged in some form of sexual conduct, and told the judge he was on medication for depression. His sentencing date has now been pushed until March, 2018.
The 35-year-old, who is best known for his role as Noah “Puck” Puckerman on the hit series from 2009-2015 previously struck a plea deal which allowed him to serve four to seven years in prison instead of the 20 year maximum. The court documents included many disturbing details including that investigators found more than 25,000 images and 600 videos depicting prepubescent children engaged in sexual conduct. According to reports, the images and video depicted children as young as 3 years old.
The actor has to register as a sex offender and enter a treatment program; have no verbal or electronic contact with anyone under the age of 18; stay 100 feet away from schools, parks, public swimming pools, youth centers, playgrounds and arcades; and pay $50,000 in restitution to each victim, according to the documents.
Salling was first arrested in December 2015 after one of his former girlfriends called police and tipped them off to the disturbing content on his laptop. After he was named in a two-count indictment in May 2016, he then sought new legal representation which delayed the trial.
