According to multiple reports, Joshua Waring, the son of former Real Housewives of Orange County star Lauri Peterson has been arrested for suspicion of attempted murder.
In a report from the Los Angeles Times, 27-year-old Waring allegedly shot a 35-year-old man in the torso in Costa Mesa, California around 2:30 a.m. on Monday, June 20. “Apparently there had been a previous confrontation between [Waring] and the occupants of that residence earlier, and he had returned,” Costa Mesa police Lt. Paul Beckman said in a statement to the publication. His arrest came after a car chase with police which came to an end after Waring crashed the stolen SUV he was driving and tried to run away. The 35-year-old victim was taken to hospital where he remains, but is expected to survive.
Unfortunately, Waring has had run-ins with the law before including pleading guilty to a hit-and-run and three felony counts of possession of a controlled substance in 2008. The next year he was arrested for battery and possession of drug paraphernalia. Some of his substance abuse struggle was documented on Bravo’s hit series RHOC while his mother, Peterson, was on the show from 2006-2009 as one of the original Housewives. She has not yet commented on her son’s most recent arrest.
