Are you ready, Friends fans? The reunion we’ve all been waiting for officially has a premiere date!
HBO Max announced on Thursday that the much-anticipated reunion special is set to air on the streaming service on May 27th. The special, titled Friends: The Reunion, will feature the beloved original cast returning to the sitcom’s original soundstage for an unscripted reunion.
Fan favorites Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, and David Schwimmer will not only hold starring roles on the special but also reportedly helped to produce the episode behind-the-scenes. They worked alongside the original Friends executive producers Kevin Bright, Marta Kauffman, and David Crane.
Aside from the original cast, HBO Max also announced that the special would feature some major guest stars. Fans can expect to see David Beckham, Justin Bieber, BTS, James Corden, Cindy Crawford, Cara Delevingne, Lady Gaga, Elliott Gould, Kit Harington, Larry Hankin, Mindy Kaling, Thomas Lennon, Christina Pickles, Tom Selleck, James Michael Tyler, Maggie Wheeler, Reese Witherspoon and Malala Yousafzai.
Cox recently sat down with Ellen DeGeneres and shared some teasers about the special while gushing about how “unbelievable” and “emotional” the experience was. The cast wrapped filming the special in early April. “It’s an unscripted reunion but we got to be on Stage 24 for the first time, all of us, in like … I forgot how many years. 15 years? Or 17 years?” she shared at the time.
