Doesn’t the crew at The Daily Mail know that there are a few people you just don’t mess with? If you’re going to mess with George Clooney, and the piece isn’t satirical, or at least so outrageous that it would make the Kentuckian laugh, then it’s never a good idea to publish it. George always brings the thunder in the form of verbal retribution.
The Daily Mail recently ran a story suggesting that George’s fiance’s mother was not in favor of their engagement, and is not looking forward to their upcoming marriage. The piece of journalism, which George has suggested is completely yellow, went on to imply that religious differences were the reasons why Amal Alamuddin’s family was not thrilled that she accepted the marriage proposal of the American celeb.
George Clooney one-upped The Daily Mail, by offering a special Op-ed to USA Today. One of these publications trumps the other–you can probably figure which one.
Within his succinct spanking of The Daily Mail, George pointed a strong finger at the untruths printed, and lambasted the publication for irresponsibility in suggesting that religious differences were the impetus for any familial problems.
The Daily Mail issued an apology, and pulled the story, but the publication would not go so far as to say they agreed with everything Clooney offered in his rebuttal. For those who really wish they could have read it, well… there’s still a story at The Inquisitr News suggesting that Amal’s family has asked George to convert to Islam before marrying their daughter. Again, let us consider the source.
Regardless of the truths and untruths found in this mess, if Amal’s family wasn’t impressed with George’s public acumen, surely they are now.
