‘Gold Rush’ Miner Jesse Goins Passes At 60 After Being Found Unconscious On The Set Of The Show

Jesse Goins, a gold room operator who was featured on Discovery’s TV show Gold Rush, has died at the age of 60.

According to Deadline, Goins was discovered unconscious by a crew member on Tuesday night in Colorado while on set for the series. A rep for Discovery confirmed that Goins was later pronounced dead at a hospital. TMZ reported that Goins suffered a heart attack, however, this has not been confirmed by Goins’ representation or family.

“We are heartbroken to hear this news,” a rep for Discovery shared with PEOPLE. “Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.”

Larry Goins, Jesse’s brother, shared a tribute on Facebook writing, “Heaven will never be the same!! My brother Jesse went home to be with his Father, Lord and Savior. He will be missed dearly. Love you brother.”

In another post, Larry added that his brother “loved his Gold Rush family.”

“I could never find the words to express how grateful to Dave Turin and the guys for the love they showed him,” Larry wrote. “And for sharing and making sure the Lord and the Gospel was a big part of his daily life. He was in such a good place because of this. Love you guys.”

Nathan Clark, a cast member with Goins, also shared his condolences. “I’m truly lost for words right now. We lost the man that I trusted with my future and my kid’s future,” Clark wrote. “Jesse Goins was the kindest soul you could ever have met. Love you brother! Jesse would give up his meal for the man next to him that was not as hungry. #dtlm #goldrush.”
