The Golden Globes 2020 list of nominees released this Monday morning!
The Golden Globes are voted on by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA), which is comprised of journalists from around the world.
Tim Allen, Dakota Fanning and Susan Kelechi Watson announced the nominations alongside HFPA president Lorenzo Soria and Barry Adelman, executive VP of television at Dick Clark Productions. This year’s Golden Globe Awards ambassadors – Pierce Brosnan’s sons Dylan and Paris Brosnan – also attended the nominee ceremony.
In the fall, it was announced that Tom Hanks would receive the Cecil B. DeMille Award, which recognizes a lifetime of achievement in film. Previous recipients include Jeff Bridges, Oprah Winfrey, and Meryl Streep.
Also, Ellen DeGeneres will be the recipient of the Carol Burnett Award, which recognizes lifetime achievement in television. The award is named after the legendary actress Carol Burnett, and it was first awarded to the Carol Burnett Show star at the 2019 Golden Globe Awards. DeGeneres is the second entertainer to receive the award.
