Hackers Threaten Iggy Azalea If She Doesn’t Apologize To Azealia BanksPublished on December 22, 2014.
Yet again Australian rapper Iggy Azalea is in the middle of social media controversy after she received a threat from people claiming to be a part of the Anonymous hacker group.
The group is threatening to release an alleged sex tape featuring Iggy if she does not issue a statement to Banks offering an apology for seemingly racist behavior.
On Friday December 19 the group sent a tweet out to Azalea from the handle @TheAnonMessage writing, “@IGGYAZALEA, you have exactly 48 hours from now to release a statement apologizing to @AzealiaBanks and the protestors in NYC…”
They continued with, “You are guilty of misappropriating black culture, insulting peaceful protestors, and making light of Eric Garner’s death…There’s an X rated tape of you, we bet you’d certainly don’t want public, are we right? @IGGYAZALEA…and this is nothing. Comply or else.”
Azalea denies that there is any tape to be revealed and has not responded to the message or made an apology although Twitter has suspended the account since the messages went out.
Azalea and Banks have been feuding for around a month after Banks went on a Twitter rant in November aimed mostly at Azalea, however the feud was reignited after Banks attacked Azalea once again, this time during a radio interview.
After Banks’s interview Azalea responded with, “Special msg for banks. There are many black artists succeeding in all genres. The reason you haven’t is because of your piss poor attitude. Your inability to be responsible for your own mistakes, bullying others, the inability to be humble or self control. It’s YOU!”
It was after this most recent exchange that the Anonymous group stepped in with their threat for Azalea, however amid all the controversy Iggy Azalea continues her preparations for her upcoming tour with Nick Jonas and is tweeting out her excitement for next year.
