There’s the average karaoke night out with your friends, and then there is this, a new TV series from Spike called Lip Sync Battle that is promising the appearance of some huge stars.
On Tuesday March 17, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s teaser clip went viral of the massive wrestler and action star singing and dancing along to none other than Taylor Swift’s hit “Shake It Off.”
Now there is an extended trailer that has been released of the show that was inspired by Jimmy Fallon’s same segment on The Tonight Show and it is in fact Jimmy Fallon who takes on The Rock in one of the episodes performing quite the lip sync of Madonna’s “Like A Prayer.”
Hosted by LL Cool J and featuring Chrissy Teigen as the color commentator, the show is boasting all kinds of star power as the trailer also reveals more of Anna Kendrick’s rap skills, which features a surprise appearance by none other than Jennifer Lopez.
Apparently going against John Krasinski he responds, “Wait, wait. What is happening!?” before donning a silver fringed dress to perform Tina Turner’s classic “Rolling on the River.”
More celebrities that are briefly seen include Julianne Hough, John Legend and Common in the show where the audience decides the winner each time.
Lip Sync Battle airs on April 2 on Spike TV.
