Not that many people would really mind being followed home by their favorite actor, but Jamie Dornan’s recent confession about following a woman to research for a role is kind of creepy.

Although Jamie Dornan plays the somewhat scary yet charming Christian Grey for Fifty Shades of Grey, his role for the Netflix crime thriller The Fall is much darker as pyschotic serial killer Paul Spector and in order to get prepared he followed a random woman off of the subway.

“The first series, I did do a couple of things to try to get inside [his mind]. On the tube, which is our underground system,” he started to explain before asking, “Can we get arrested for this? Hold on…. this is a really bad reveal: I, like, followed a woman off the train one day to see what it felt like to pursue someone like that.”

He went on to explain that he followed at a distance for a few blocks and even admitted it was exciting.

“It felt kind of exciting, in a really sort of dirty way. I’m sort of not proud of myself. But I do honestly think I learned something from it, because I’ve obviously never done any of that. It was intriguing and interesting to enter that process of ‘What are you following for her?’ and ‘What are you trying to find out?'”

Dornan’s creepy confession comes after the news that the thrilling drama has been picked up for a third season.
