Jana Kramer Hopes DWTS Will Help Her Heal From Split With Mike Caussin

Shortly after the shocking news that country singer and former One Tree Hill star Jana Kramer had split from her husband Mike Caussin, it was announced that she was going to be a contestant on season 23 of Dancing With the Stars.

After a debut in which she and pro partner Gleb Savchenko “oozed sex appeal” Kramer opened up about her separation and her hopes for competing this season on DWTS.

“I think this show will help me let my guard down,” the 32-year-old said. “My personal life kind of took a hit. I have recently separated from my husband. I really think this process is going to be a huge healing process for me.”

Earlier, Kramer also opened up about not only doing the show so shortly after splitting with her husband of 15 months, but also about managing as a single parent to their daughter Jolie Rae while her estranged husband is in rehab. “It was definitely so hard because my priority is Jolie, but I wanted to show moms out there that we can do it, and we can have everything – we can still be extremely career-oriented and still be an amazing mom and be there for my daughter and kick a–. Obviously it’s a tough time time but I’m excited to get my confidence back for the first time and feel confident in my skin and just learn something new, too.”
