For those who were holding out hope that Jenna Dewan and Channing Tatum would be getting back together, it looks like that isn’t happening as Dewan officially filed for divorce from her estranged husband six months after they announced their split.
Dewan filed the documents on Friday, October 26 in Los Angeles citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the divorce. The actress also asked for joint legal and physical custody of their 5-year old daughter Everly, an dis seeking child and spousal support from Tatum, and in addition asked for her name to be restored to Jenna Dewan instead of Jenna Dewan Tatum.
Tatum immediately filed a response in which he also requested joint physical and legal custody of Everly.
In early April of this year, the two stars devastated fans when they announced they had separated after almost nine years of marriage.
“We have lovingly chosen to separate as a couple. We fell deeply in love so many years ago and have had a magical journey together,” their statement read. “Absolutely nothing has changed about how much we love one another, but love is a beautiful adventure that is taking us on different paths for now.”
“There are no secrets nor salacious events at the root of our decision — just two best-friends realizing it’s time to take some space and help each other life the most joyous, fulfilled lives as possible,” it continued. “We are still a family and will always be loving dedicated parents to Everly. We won’t be commenting beyond this, and we thank you all in advance for respecting our family’s privacy. Sending lots of love to everyone, Chan & Jenna.”
Meanwhile the pair have been focusing on co-parenting their daughter while also getting back into the dating game. Reports have indicated that Tatum is currently dating singer Jessie J, while Dewan was spotted introducing friends to her new mystery man while at a Halloween party over the weekend.
