Jennifer Aniston Hurt By Rumors She Was Too Selfish To Become A Mother

Jennifer Aniston, 45, has put up with a lot over her career, even though she is gorgeous, funny and talented, she somehow always ends up being victimized in the press.

Although she has an incredible career that is still in the making, there is always speculation and hate that she can’t really act and when her marriage to Brad Pitt broke down many thought there was a huge rift between one wanting kids and the other not, as Pitt quickly moved on to having a large brood with Angelina Jolie.

Aniston graces the cover of Allure magazine’s January issue and reveals to the magazine that she is very hurt by the rumors as to why she hasn’t had children yet.

“This continually is said about me: that I was so career-driven and focused on myself that I don’t want to be a mother, and how selfish that is. Even saying it gets me a little tight in my throat.”

Aniston also spoke out about the contrasts in the industry between women and men, especially now that she is getting nominated for SAG awards and Golden Globes for her role in Cake as a dishevelled woman who is constantly suffering from pain.

“A woman going physically unattractive is where you get recognition and some sort of respect. You read things like, ‘Oh finally, she’s acting!’ It’s quite sexist to be honest because men don’t get that,” she stated.

In the same vein, men also don’t get the pressure of having a family while pursuing their career.

“I don’t like [the pressure] that people put on me, on women, that you’ve failed yourself as a female because you haven’t procreated. I don’t think it’s fair. You may not have a child come out of your vagina, but that doesn’t mean you aren’t mothering- dogs, friends, friends’ children.”

Aniston however has more than proven herself to the entertainment industry and while she enjoys further success in her career, she is also so happy to gush about her fiancé Justin Theroux.

Although the two have been engaged for two years, they are in no rush to get married to please anyone else and are happy the way things are right now although she admitted, “We do talk about it all the time.”
