Jennifer Esposito To Replace Alyssa Milano On MistressesPublished on February 11, 2015.
A few months ago actress Alyssa Milano, 41, announced that she would not be returning to the show Mistresses for its third season following the birth of her daughter Elizabella Dylan Bugliari.
The show decided that it was going to move filming locations from Los Angeles to Vancouver in British Columbia, Canada due to financial reasons however, Milano stated she would not also be able to make the move due to her family.
“It’s with a heavy heart that I have decided that I can’t relocate. I have two babies under 4. Being a mother and wife comes first and I just cannot uproot my children and separate the family by moving away. I will miss this job desperately and wish everyone the absolute best,” she wrote on her website.
Regardless of Milano’s departure, it is well known in the entertainment industry that “the show must go on” and it seems the ABC show has confirmed her replacement as Blue Bloods actress Jennifer Esposito, 41.
According to reports she will play Calista Raines, an “uber-fabulous” and “larger-than-life” creative director of a luxury fashion brand.
Esposito had a somewhat dramatic departure from Blue Bloods after going on medical leave to be treated for Celiac disease but afterwards she had some conflicts with CBS. “After a week off, my doc said I could return to work but CBS implied that I was not truly ill and this was a scheme to get a raise!,” she tweeted back in 2012 which was her last appearance on the show.
Esposito will join fellow Mistresses stars Rochelle Aytes, Yunjin Kim and Jes Macallan.
